violet cartoon 64Hi there!

Welcome to my blog.  I’m a beginner blogger.  You may wonder why I’m suddenly blogging now.

Well, about two years ago I had several health scares which would change my outlook on my eating habits and lifestyle.  At the time I thought that since I’m young, energetic, extremely dedicated and hardworking in everything I love (including my career), I am invincible and can tackle multiple tasks/projects and maintain an active social life simultaneously.  Guess what?  Everything took a toll on me eventually, mentally and physically.  That summer when I was travelling off to one of the most adventurous trips in my life so far, I became sick before, during, and even after my trip, for a prolonged period.  Not being in my optimum health obviously affected my experience of the trip.

During my prolonged period of “sickness”, I reflected upon the state of my health.  It finally dawned on me that without health, I have nothing.  Health is indeed wealth.  Without health, I have no energy to work, spend time with those I love and care about, help others, and pursue my dreams and passions. At that moment, I made a pact to myself that I will make myself number one priority, rebuilding my health and energy.

In the past 1.5 years, I began to focus on nutrition and fitness, which are integral to good health, gradually altering my eating habits and increasing my exercise level.  I also learned to reduce my commitments and say “no” when people ask for them, giving myself more “me” time and slowly balancing everything in my life.  I discovered yoga and its healing power on my overall health.  It reminded me that the most important thing is to focus on the present, savoring the little moments of everyday life by ourselves and with others.  Forget the past and stop worrying about the future; we only have NOW to live life to the fullest and with joy.

So, come and follow me as I continue on my journey to healthy eating and balanced living in my everyday life.  I truly believe that our everyday lives are adventures as we make new discoveries. After all, every day is an adventure!

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you will enjoy your stay, and learn something new, or teach me something new. 😀

Let’s “balance, eat, exercise, laugh, learn and share” together one day at a time here!

Cheers & Love, Violet

  1. Great welcome page, I have the ability to fall asleep in the car, on a train (if I have a companion)’ , just lying on the sofa, power naps my Mum calls them. I also love yoga, dance classes, eating, laughing and learning too. I have a low boredom threshold though and get twitchy if I’ve got nothing to do. 🙂

Good luck tomorrow with your dance test. Bollyfuze sounds like good fun.

    • Thanks so much Charlotte! 🙂 You’re so lucky you can fall asleep anywhere! I wish I can say the same for me, maybe if I could, then I wouldn’t feel so exhausted when I’m always on the go. I’ll try to slow down even more and see if I can rest up now. I love learning and reading about your journey into becoming a classical singer! 🙂

  2. I agree with you! It is so important to focus on health and on ourselves. I learned that it is so important to have “me” time when we get run down with too many activities and events in life. I’m looking forward to reading more of your blog entries! 🙂

    • Hi Karen! I’m so happy you also agree with finding “me” time and balance in our daily hectic life! Thank you and I also look forward to reading more of your foodie adventures! 🙂
